Most industrial museums are quiet. You walk past a lathe with a card in front of it explaining what the lathe used to do. Bruunshåb Gamle Papfabrik does not work that way. The machines run. Sheets of cardboard come off the line the way they did when the men who installed the line were alive, on equipment that a river was once dammed to drive. The mill has been a working museum since 1986, and the word working is doing real labour in that sentence. What you smell when you walk in is wet pulp, not floor polish.
