Viborg is a Jutland town of forty-odd thousand people, with a cathedral, two lakes and a long municipal history of being important for reasons that stopped mattering in 1660. It is also, according to Animation Career Review's 2024 ranking, home to the third-best animation school on Earth. The classrooms are in a former army barracks. Everything is taught in English. Roughly 230 undergraduates come here from all over the world to learn how to make a drawing move, and the obvious question — why here? — has a surprisingly ordinary answer.
